Carol Strain Clemons, MD, PhD
Dr. Carol Clemons is a graduate of Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. She received her PhD in anatomy from Louisiana State University Medical School in Shreveport, Louisiana. Her medical training includes a medical degree from Louisiana State University Medical School in New Orleans, an internship from Ochsner Foundation Hospital in New Orleans and a residency at Louisiana State University Medical Center in Shreveport. Dr. Clemons went on to complete a fellowship in cornea and external disease at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Clemons was Chief of Ophthalmology at Schumpert Medical Center and Associate Clinical Professor at Louisiana State University in Shreveport, Louisiana. Dr. Clemons is board-certified in ophthalmology with the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
Dr. Clemons practices comprehensive ophthalmology including routine eye examination, diabetic glaucoma management, as well as her specialty in cataract, cornea and refractive (LASIK) surgery.
Mary Catherine Clemons, MD
Dr. Mary Catherine Clemons is a graduate of Louisiana State University Medical School in Shreveport. Her medical training at LSUHSC Shreveport included an internship in general medicine and a residency in ophthalmology. Dr. Clemons also received fellowship training for oculoplastics and neuro-ophthalmology at UT Southwestern in Dallas, Texas.
Dr. Clemons specializes in eyelid surgery such as droopy eyelids, tearing and eyelid lesions; and the treatment and management of diseases affecting the optic nerve, nerves controlling eye movement and the connections with the brain. She also practices comprehensive ophthalmology including routine eye examination and diabetic glaucoma management. Dr. Clemons is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology in Ophthalmology, Oculoplastics and Neuro-Ophthalmology.
John Carmody, MD
Dr. John Carmody is a graduate of Loyola College Prep and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in zoology from Louisiana State University. He received his medical degree from Louisiana State University Health Science Center in Shreveport. He completed his internship in Internal Medicine and his residency in Ophthalmology at LSUHSC-Shreveport. Dr. Carmody went on to complete fellowship training in Cornea, External Disease, and Keratorefractive Surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas, Texas.
Dr. Carmody is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, Shreveport Medical Society, and Louisiana State Medical Society.
Dr. Carmody practices comprehensive ophthalmology including routine eye examination, diabetic glaucoma management, as well as his specialty in cataract, cornea and refractive (LASIK) surgery. His practice is dedicated to providing each patient individualized and compassionate care as well as the most up-to-date surgical therapeutic options available.
